Here is a brief list of forthcoming TM events in Cape Town and nationally in March and April 2010, plus some announcements of international courses and news from around the country.

Meditation Days and Residence Courses provide the opportunity for longer meditation and deeper rest. Residence Courses in particular provide this for a prolonged period, and the effect is correspondingly more profound. The deeper experience of TM is supplemented by lectures, videotapes etc that give practical understanding of the mechanics of TM and its application in daily life.
TM Refresher Course is ideal for those who have lost the habit of regular meditation and/or need to be reminded of the simplicity and effortlessness of the practice.

TM in schools: Another school in Durban has begun Transcendental Meditation, with the first 100 Grade 9 pupils instructed this month. This is the first high-school to introduce TM in the Durban area, and more pupils will be learning. Already there are over 500 pupils practising TM in two KZN primary schools. A primary school in Gauteng also recently indicated it wants to introduce TM.
Here in Cape Town, Dr Taddy Blecher, CEO of the Maharishi Institute in Johannesburg, spoke last month to the Education Summit of the DA. The next day he held a planning meeting with Meditators interested in introducing Consciousness-Based Education in Cape Town. TM on air: Richard and Vicki Broome of the highly successful Houghton TM Centre were interviewed on Radio 702 and also Cape Talk on 23 January for almost an hour, resulting in a surge of interest in TM from the public. TM on show: Transcendental Meditation had a stand at the Natural and Organics Exhibition at the CTICC 19-21 February.
The exhibition was visited by 10,000 people, and well over 100 people requested more information on TM. A big thank-you to everyone who helped.
